Yunnan Sheng Pu'erh 2002
Yunnan Sheng Pu'erh 2002
2002 Sheng Pu’erh (Yunnan, Wet-Stored)
Aged Earth. Echoed Memory. Steeped Time.
Harvested in the highlands of Yunnan, southwestern China, and aged in traditional wet storage conditions at origin, this rare 2002 sheng Pu’erh has been patiently transformed by time. Over two decades of careful aging have softened its intensity into a warm, grounded infusion that speaks with depth and quiet strength.
The liquor unfolds with layered notes of fresh tobacco, toasted grain, and wet stone, grounded by hints of raw root and aged wood. Syrupy and mineral-rich, its presence is felt as much as tasted, anchoring the body and clearing the mind. The finish lingers long, marked by the subtle sweetness of Hui Gan, the returning echo of flavour that defines aged Pu’erh.
This is a tea to sit with.
To steep slowly.
To meet in silence.
Part of my personal studio reserve, it has taken me years to find a Pu’erh that evokes the memory of the teas I tasted in South Korea in 2008: earthy, elegant, and alive. This one comes close. It feels like home.
Now shared in very limited quantity.
Let it unfold. Let it remember.
